Amelia is ONE!

My baby is one.  It happened too fast, and the sad part is that I knew it would.
I have desperately tried to enjoy each moment with this little beauty.
This last month has been a little more challenging, but still so fun!
Today she is one.
Here are a few things I want to never forget:
* You have lots of words: baby, ball, mama, dada, hi, puppy, meow, moo, uh-oh...
* You slept through the night last night.  It hasn't happened much in the last month
* You have eight teeth, and I think more are coming soon
* Your favorite food is green beans, followed closely by vanilla yogurt and veggie straws
* You walk everywhere.  Started taking a lot of steps right before Christmas.
* You were very sick this month.  Got a 103.7 fever Christmas night.  Took you to the Dr in ND on the 26th and you had a UTI.  Antibiotic for 10 days made you stop eating,
then you got croup after we got home.  It's been a long month.  You started eating after croup and were making up for lost time.  This is the first time you've ever taken 7 ounce bottles.  Ever.
* You are loved by so many!  But you are pretty picky about who has you.

Merry Christmas 2024

Merry Christmas! This has been a big year for our family, full of wonderful memories, celebration, and change. In May, Jenna graduated from high school as the salutatorian. Her accomplishments were impressive but her speech made us swell with pride. Jenna spent the summer babysitting for our dear friends in Bismarck, a wonderful transition time for all of us. In August, we helped her move into the dorms at Trinity Bible College and she has been blessed in the process as she learns, grows, and finds community. She got to play a lot of Lions volleyball this fall, and we had some fun family adventures traveling to her games. She’s really looking forward to a TBC “GO trip” to minister in England in March! Carrie is now the oldest at home and just finished a great volleyball season as a solid middle hitter. Basketball is next. She got her driver's license and turned 16 this year, so she’s enjoying the independence of driving “her” Dakota. She and Jenna were blessed to go on a mission tr...

Kittens

This will probably be a favorite picture forever. This Spring we had a stray tom cat sneak in and we had four litters of kittens, 18 in all!  This litter of kittens loves playing with Amelia and will chase her around sometimes. She certainly loves them, and usually does a good job of handling the kittens with care. I said usually. She has just turned three. We'll let this one slide. Everyone escaped unharmed. =)
