Holy Smokes

...yes, that's our new 'can't believe it' phrase...after we heard Jenna's 'oh my gosh' that sounded like something we didn't approve of. After all, she can't say her 's' sound yet. And so, 'holy smokes' sounds adorable, even if it sounds like holy mokes!

I can hardly believe it's already the 9th of July! The last 8 days have absolutely FLOW by, but we had a spectacular time in North Dakota with many, many family and friends...as you can see.
The highlight of Carrie's time up North was the dogs...large or small, she loves 'em all. She would absolutely go crazy upon seeing either the older 11-year-old German Shepherd Herc, or the much younger, 8-week old Shepherd, Bear. Jenna...well, she just loves it all, but I have to say that Bear's love of biting her pant legs wasn't the highlight of Jenna's week. Four wheeler rides, the swing, and many little cousins to play with, topped her list.
Preston's highlight is easy: shooting clays with his uncles and cousins, and of course he loves cooking for others, this time a peanut oil turkey one night and a shrimp broil a couple days later. I really enjoyed playing family softball with about 12 others on Friday, as I was free of both children for a mere couple of hours, which was pure bliss!
The girls did fairly good on the ride home, but of course both were very tired and cranky, especially the younger of the two, who is working on gaining about 5 teeth at the moment...yikes!
