Father's Day Construction
Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful daddies out there! Preston is such a wonderful father and we are so thankful for him! This morning we gave him his givt (a new earpiece for his phone because he broke his last one) and then went to church. After church, we met my parents in Springfield at Texas Roadhouse for a wonderful lunch. His day was topped-off with a trip to Bass Pro to fix his gun - yay!!
On another subject, we were told last Wednesday that if we wanted to close the refinance on our house with the 4.76% rate, we have to COMPLETE the basement by June 29th (thanks to a lovely appraiser that added incorrect wording, and some unfinished basement fraud that happened in the recent housing decline). So, we've been CRANKING on the basement, working all day long and many days until midnight. We wanted to get the basement done this summer, but completing a 30+ day project in 10 days is not exactly our idea of 'fun' And today on Father's Day, Preston is downstairs cutting trip as I speak, poor lil fella!
We are so thankful right now for our friends and family who have been super helpful. Grant B is helping with the tile tomorrow and came Saturday morning, Larry R is coming to finish the electrical on Wednesday or Thursday, my dad is coming Tuesday night to help with varnishing, mom is coming Wednesday to help watch the girls, Janae' watched Jenna one morning+a little, and then Carrie for a couple super helpful hours on Saturday, and we're hoping a State Park Marina crew, led by Mitch, will be helping with the finishing touches on Thursday before carpet comes on Friday! Whew! And let's not forget to Praise God for his faithfulness in pulling us through every tough moment we have encountered in the last week...there have been many!
On the up-side, our girls have been stellar! Carrie is teething (not fun), but sleeps a lot, so that's very helpful, and Jenna enjoys playing downstairs, or if she gets tired of that or it's too 'noiny' she will come up and watch a movie. I keep promising that I'll do something really special for her when we get this all done; I think that's going to be a trip to see Duke...because we're leaving sometime on the 30th to arrive July 1 for the July 4 Earl LaDuke family reunion.
